- Save the zip-lining experience for your next Costa Rica vacation and try bodysurfing on Kaplua Beach or nearby D.T. Fleming Beach. Other beaches with great bodysurfing waves include Baldwin Beach outside Paia, Mokuleia Beach just past Kapalua Resort on the Honoapiilani Highway, Oneloa Beach in Makena, and Ulua Beach in Kihei. Bodysurfing takes more practice than skill and you’ll find plenty of beach buddies willing to share their tips for riding the waves without a board.
- Get off the beach and into the water. Maui has the perfect combination of wind and waves for all kinds of water sports – and no shortage of pros available to show you the ropes. A Maui vacation is the perfect opportunity to try your hand at surfing, parasailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, boogie boarding, jet skiing or ocean kayaking. With beautiful reefs teaming with colorful tropical fish, Maui also offers excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities.
- If you want to experience authentic Maui cuisine, skip the over-priced, over-rated luaus. The Vegas-style shows are flashy, but the food is disappointing. Instead, enjoy a ranch-grilled burger, a Maui specialty. For the best burgers on the island, stop at the Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill in the upcountry. It’s the perfect place to stop for lunch after a morning hike in Haleakala National Park.
- Maui has some beautiful hotels and resorts, but gorgeous Maui vacation rentals are a far better value and many offer the same level of luxury. Rent the outstanding Maui Beach House or a spacious Paki Maui condominium. On iTrip.net you’ll find beautiful Maui vacation rentals to fit every taste and budget.
